Life at East Bay Waterfront Park
I’ve had a few experiences with people and animals at West Bay Park. My first experience was with a man who was riding a motorcycle. He pulled over, parked his bike on the sidewalk and sat in the grass probably 50 feet from where I was sitting. He laid in the grass for a while then he got up and came to talk to me. I happened to be drawing at the time and he asked me if I was painting a beautiful picture of the scenery. I said kinda, I was drawing in pencil some observations and the general layout of the place. I showed it to him and he was very unimpressed hahah. But he was still encouraging. He told me that he comes here sometimes before his shift at the shell station across the street. He had a 12 hour shift today and he wanted to soak up the sun while he could. I expressed remorse and wished him a good work day.
Also someone noticed me struggle to parallel park my mini van so he offered to guide me and gave me a high five after we accomplished our goal. I have seen very many people out on the trail walking their dogs and seen various ducks as well which makes me happy. Its overall a good atmosphere.
It’s so refreshing to talk to somebody that is familiar with the area. Every time I talk to somebody in olympia they almost always have something really cool to say.
