Visualizing Sea Level Rise

The view from the dock side of East Bay Park

What will happen when the water level rises if no changes are made to the down town area.

First of all, because of my location being next to the shore, I would be underwater. The docks would be gone, peoples houses would be uninhabitable. The childrens museum wouldn’t be functioning. And most importantly, the waste treatment facility, which was conveniently placed 2 blocks away from the water front, would flood and waste would be everywhere including in the Puget Sound.  100’s of people and animals would be displaced. The water level will have a definite rise in the next 50-100 years. Even though there isn’t a whole lot we can do about this, we can at least try to stop it from getting worse! It’s definitely hard to see these upcoming events in a positive light, most likely because they aren’t exactly positive. But it’s important to be optimistic and have hope for the future because passionate and inspired movements are the ones that make actual significant changes.
