Drains are Such a Pain (Weeks 3-6)
Drains are such a pain, especially when the entire block is contaminated and storm water runoff goes right into capitol lake. Geez! How inconvenient. I wonder how this could be solved…. how about routing runoff to LOTT (our awesome reclaimed water facility) and returning capitol lake to it’s natural state and name The Deschutes Estuary. This way, water does not flood as easily out of the lake and when contaminated water does appear it can be properly taken care of.
….Too bad this will take upwards of ten years. Thanks to the stubborn elder people of Olympia and the Port, the City of Tumwater and the Yatch Club. Let’s just keep digging this polluted hole instead of taking meaningful action to curb flooding, sea level rise and water pollution, it’s easier this way.
