Luminary Procession
Walk back from the Luminary Procession over the tunnel, 10pm.
Two men emerge from out of the tunnel on Jefferson, they walk along the side of a fence, that would seemingly deter trespassers. The path is fairly beaten, as if it had been used by many before. I guess they didn’t the fence memo, or didn’t care. I’m assume the latter. I look away, as if I’m alert but focused on something across the street. My girlfriend takes a side step toward me, bumping me out of balance. I fumble with an expectation of falling off the sidewalk. I don’t. My stomach drops.
I exclaim back, “What’s up?”
“Oh, nothing that guy from under the bridge looked right at me and a took an aggressive step toward me” She said, “Made me nervous.”
We walked back home a little closer.
The parade was still pretty though.
