Week 1 Inquiry (Smell)

The place I chose to study was the Olympia Inner City Transit Center. It is located between Washington State St. and Franklin St (on State Ave). Based solely on my smell, it was very interesting. The first thing I smelled was the wet grass surrounding me and pollen from the flowers. I decided to sit on the other side of the transit center in hopes of changing the aroma around me. After I moved, I inhaled something different. I could smell everything surrounding the transit center. The smell of fried food, gusts of gas smoke and perfume from passengers. I closed my eyes to see what I would visualize based only on my smells. The first thing I pictured was of a fair. It was like I could smell the operating rides. The smell of food trucks. The smell of peoples perfume from cramped lines.
