Damn the dam

My first stop on Wednesday, April 13th, was to 5th Avenue, where the water from Capitol Lake meets with the water from the inlet. It was around 2:30 pm and very windy– my hat nearly blew off. Cars were rushing past, and that combined with the wind and water made it pretty noisy. Adding to that, it was very grey and bleak that afternoon, adding to the gloominess of these man-made structures.

A water level meter where the water meets the dam.

Along the sidewalk of 5th Avenue, there is a platform for the dam with grates looking down into the water.

really cool close up images!
Very eye catching! It looks almost abstract.
