The Past Of Percival Landing
Percival landing was built by a Massachusetts native Caption Sam Percival in 1860. The dock catered to steamships that ferried cargo, mail and passengers well into 1920. He Built this mile long Warf due to Olympia at this time mostly being only assessable by water. The reason for its massive length was due to there being such a low tide that boats where unable to bring goods and services. Later the landing was taken over by his son John Percival in 1877 who is shown in the picture.http://olympiahistory.org/percival-landing/
