Barking Dog Creek
Barking Dog Creek (BDC) is one of 5 small headwater streams on Evergreen’s campus. BDC is entirely located on campus, draining to the north into the Puget Sound. As a class project in Environmental Analysis (2008-9), students and faculty mapped the entire creek by hand (see GIS image below). Follow-up studies involved repeat measurements by other programs and student groups, and more complicated visualizations of the creek and riparian forest.
Aerial LiDAR images were captured at points along Barking Dog Creek to create a LiDAR flythrough and links in Google Earth.
Ground-based LiDAR data were collected in the summer of 2009 by Dr. L. Monika Moskal, her students and Evergreen students and faculty.
