In-Person Classes and Hands-On Labs

We are excited to get the opportunity to be back in person with a hybrid model for Fall, 2021! This means we will have two full field days each week, with field lectures and hands-on work in research plots and example forests. Our extensive field work will be supplemented by online content and asynchronous lectures allowing students to absorb lecture content on their own time. We will have an active in-person hands-on field community, supplanted by online discussions and content where appropriate. In essence, this model will give students the best of both worlds. We will form a strong community anchored in field experiences together, and then allow for recored indoor lectures and labs (including GIS) that can be more self-paced. Our small class size, block program structure, and focus on field experiences in forest ecology place us at a great advantage.
