ASHLAND, Ore. – Southern Oregon closed out the weekend with a 3-0 sweep (25-12, 25-15, 25-13) of visiting Evergreen State in a Cascade Collegiate Conference volleyball match Saturday evening at Bob Riehm Arena.
The Raiders, ranked 18th in the nation, improved to 8-4 overall and 5-2 in the CCC, while Evergreen State fell to 0-8 overall and 0-7 in conference play.
Southern Oregon limited Evergreen State to a .073 attack percentage in the match, while the Raiders hit .330 as a team. Sarah Holgen finished with a match-high 11 kills and added 13 digs to earn the double-double, while Natalie Scheller and Megan Bartling each finished with 10 kills for SOU.
Jasmine Horton led the Geoducks with nine kills and a .471 attack percentage, while Erin Mitchell’s 17 assists led the team and Sonja Arrasi’s 14 digs were a team-high. Angela Spieker posted a match-high 18 assists, with Krista Novelli adding 17 for the Raiders. Renee Yomtob tied Arrasi for the match-high with 14 digs, with Becky Johnstone adding 12 for SOU.
Southern Oregon returns to action next weekend, when the Raiders visit Northwest Christian on Friday night and Corban on Saturday night, with both matches scheduled for 7 p.m.
