CENTRALIA, Wash. – Former Evergreen women’s basketball standout Jennifer Solberg recently added one more honor to her trophy case as she was inducted into the Centralia College Sports Hall of Fame.
Solberg, who played for the Geoducks from 2006-08, was one of three in the Class of 2011. She started out as a player in 2002-03, helping the Lady Blazers win their first ever NWAACC Western Division Championship, earning First Team All-Conference honors and was named CC’s Athlete of the Year. In 2004-05, the team took second place in the Western Division. After migrating north to Olympia to star for the Geoducks, Solberg returned to Centralia in 2008-09 as an assistant coach, helping the Lady Blazers to the Western Division Championship again.
At Evergreen, Solberg was named Honorable Mention All-Cascade Conference as a junior before earning First Team All-CCC honors as a senior, also adding CCC All-Academic Team
honors as well. Her 27 points against Northwest in 2007 is still tied for fourth all-time for Evergreen, as is her 17 rebounds, which she did three times for the Geoducks.
She led Evergreen in scoring both years wearing the green and white, averaging 13.7 ppg as a junior and 14.7 ppg as a senior. She also led the team in free throw percentage and rebounding during both her years in Olympia.
Solberg currently lives in Tumwater and is applying for several Masters of Social Work programs.
