my home related to our guess speakers this week. they spoke of the youth becoming “americanized” and that relates because with the basketball world touching the globe kids began to rethink who they are because their favorite may be of a different culture. more than likely black. in that they receive their idols culture and accept it. causing the youth or the next generation of some cultures to become “americanized” and learn from all cultures so they may be accepted within their sport or niche. everyone that comes to america struggles with identity and acceptance and when you are young that is already apart of your everyday battle so when sports comes into play its even tougher because being accepted on the team and people liking you for who you are means everything to some kids.
