I wasn’t sure what to write on this blog concerning Forgotten Country because of my internal reactions to the book as I was reading it. I will be limiting the full extent of my thoughts on this book because of personal reasons.
Forgotten Country
- (History?) working against them(?)
- Threatened?
- Reverting to images of strength – “MUST have a son…” etc.
- Tribalism – as a family, over American conventions
- Kinda funny – the Chinese guy is mistaken for a Japanese guy and gets killed, and Korea is mentioned nowhere
- Misogyny
- Social hierarchy
- Silence
- Subservience
- Expectations/pressure
- run
- Threatened?
- (Racism???)
- Trust?
