Hi, I’m Bridget. I am a 22 year old senior at The Evergreen State College in Washington. This is my final quarter at Evergreen and I decided to take a class that centers around Asian and Asian American culture because my life, like many people’s, has been deeply affected by Asian American pop culture without me even realizing it growing up. From watching the English-dubbed Dragon Ball Z with my dad and older sister in the late 1990s and early 2000s, to branching out as a 13 year-old watching Japanese-dubbed anime with English subtitles to eating various Asian American foods like teriyaki, phó, and lumpia. This blog is where I am going to be documenting my research on Asian American pop culture and how it relates back to the feeling of “home” for me.
