Hey I’m Ray,

Currently I’m a junior at Evergreen, focusing on film and cultural studies – mainly Asian and Asian/American culture.

For this blog I’ll be focusing on Asian/American culture, its role in entertainment and media, and how I’ve found it has impacted my own views, both domestic and abroad.

Because for me, “home” has been my internal world, the landscape of my mind and creativity, and I want to look at how Asian/American culture, specifically Japanese anime and manga, and the otaku community have helped shape that for the better.

There is also a lot of self reflection and introspection into my past, good and bad, and sorting it out in terms of my own identity as part Cherokee, Sami and European.
