Owls Fly Past Geoducks, 5-0

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Keeper Lauren Davidson (Seattle, Wash./Garfield HS) made 10 saves but it wasn’t enough as the Evergreen Geoducks fell to the Oregon Tech Owls, 5-0, in a Cascade Conference women’s soccer match on Saturday afternoon in Klamath Falls, Ore.

The Owls got on the board early as Rebekah Nisbet put in her second goal of the year in just the fifth minute to give OIT the 1-0 lead.  Oregon Tech made it 2-0 in the 26th minute as Hayley Smith fed in a ball to Rylee Jones, who chipped it over Davidson for the score.

After the halftime break, the Owls put in their third goal in the 51st minute as Nisbet crossed a ball to Hayley Smith, who put it past Davidson for the score.  Smith collected the brace in the 55th minute, this time on the assist from Melanie Johns as OIT pushed the lead to 4-0.

Oregon Tech scored their final goal in the 71st minute as A.J. Castle took a pass from Nisbet for the final goal of the match as the Owls earned the 5-0 win.  Evergreen was outshot, 31-6, on the match.

The Geoducks return to action next Friday afternoon when they play host to Northwest Christian in a match set for 4 p.m. at Evergreen Pitch in Olympia, Wash.
