This Week in Geoduck Athletics

It’s a busy week for the Geoducks as the green and white look to put on a good show for an alumni on campus for Return to Evergreen!

Basketball
The public will have their first chance to see the 2013-14 men’s and women’s basketball teams as they take to the hardwood against former players in the annual alumni games.  The women will tip at 3:30 p.m., followed by the men at 5:30 p.m.  Between games will be the official dedication of Costantino Recreation Center, named after recently retired Vice President of Student Affairs Art Costantino.

Cross Country
Evergreen fans in the Portland area can swing by McIver State Park in Estacada, Ore. on Saturday morning to watch the Geoducks race in the Lewis & Clark Invitational.  The meet is expected to begin at 11 a.m. and will feature a number of teams from around the Cascade Conference as well as other local schools.

Men’s Soccer
After playing to a scoreless draw with 25th-ranked Corban on Tuesday, the Geoducks will be down in Portland as well on Saturday, taking on Warner Pacific.  The match with the Knights is set to kick at 1 p.m. at David Douglas High School.

Women’s Soccer
After over a month of matches on the road, the Geoducks return to the friendly confines of Evergreen Pitch on Thursday when they play host to Eastern Oregon, beginning at 4 p.m.  Evergreen will then take on College of Idaho on Saturday at 1 p.m., also on Evergreen Pitch (Field #4).

And as a bonus, Haley Lightfoot, an Geoduck soccer alumnus and designer of Lightfoot Longboards has donated a one-of-a-kind custom longboard for a halftime raffle on Saturday.  You’re not going to want to miss this opportunity to support your school, your team and your former Geoducks in a radical weekend of Evergreen celebration.

Volleyball
The third team traveling to Portland this weekend is the volleyball squad as the Geoducks play at Warner Pacific on Friday night and at Concordia on Saturday night.  Both matches are set to begin at 7 p.m.

Geoduck Gallop
Runners looking for something to do on Feb. 1 can stop their search as the Geoducks are proud to announce the annual Geoduck Gallop 10k/Half-Marathon will take place beginning at 9 a.m.  For more information, including how to register, visit the Geoduck Gallop page here.
