GENEVA, Ohio – Competing against the best NAIA has to offer, junior Karissa Carlson (Pateros, Wash./Pateros HS) took 11th overall in the preliminaries of the 800m run at the 2011 NAIA Indoor Track & Field Championships on Friday at the GaREAT Sports Complex in Geneva, Ohio.
Carlson finished the race in 2:17.58 to improve on her seed time of 2:17.7 but it wasn’t fast enough to earn a spot in Saturday’s final as she took 11th among the 18 runners competing in the event.
While the indoor season has officially come to a close, the Geoducks will head outside next Saturday as they head up to Parkland to take part in the Pacific Lutheran Invitational.
