Sustainable Northwest’s mission is to bring “people, ideas, and innovation together so that nature, local economies and rural communities can thrive.” In the area of decarbonization they are trying to develop local energy sources, specifically biomass energy. They are working both for the development of biomass energy and the maximization of energy output from that biomass. One of the things they have done is to get a lumber mill to dedicate part of their trees to start producing wood based fuels.
