Columbia Riverkeeper

Mission statement:  Columbia Riverkeeper’s mission is to protect and restore the water quality of the Columbia River and all life connected to it, from the headwaters to the Pacific Ocean.

Columbia Riverkeeper is a result of two groups, Columbia River United and Clean Water Columbia, which merged in 2000.  A public interest group working to protect the Columbia river, they remain a grassroots organization powered by the river communities.   Their strategies include pushing for enforcement of environmental laws, hands-on citizen action and community organizing.  With these strategies, Columbia Riverkeeper seeks to make a positive difference in water quality as well as climate change as a whole.

Winter Wildlands Alliance

Conservation Northwest

Conservation sequesters Carbon and deforestation is a major cause of climate change conservation northwest aims to conserve wild spaces. On their website they state “ today they are ensuring the region is wild enough to support wildlife, from wolves to grizzly bears to mountain caribou. Environmental Coalition of South Seattle

On the website, their mission states, “ECOSS is a nonprofit organization that encourages urban redevelopment and a healthy environment by providing education, resources and technical assistance to diverse businesses and communities in the Puget Sound region.”

EarthCorps

“EarthCorps is a non-profit organization founded in 1993 with a mission to build global community through local environmental service.
