Beginning French I, II, III sequence
– classes offered every year through Evening Weekend Studies
This course is designed for students with no previous experience. It emphasizes mastery of basic skills though interactive learning. Classes are l conducted in French. Students practice all four language skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing.
Intermediate French I, II, III sequence
– classes offered every year through Evening Weekend Studies
This course offers grammatical review and development of conversational skills. Themes include a multi-dimensional approach through film, music, poetry and art. Students work on spontaneity in role-play, short stories readings, theater scenes and enhancement of their writing skills. Classes are interactive and conducted entirely in French.
Classes at this level are offered bi-annually with the full-time French Programs (Program: 2011-12 ” Forbidden Metaphors”) or through Contract study.
On occasion it may be offered in the Evening Weekend curriculum on Off program years.
Other options include Independent Contract Study or Study Abroad.
