Raven, Evelyn, Jeff, and Tyler hosted the SV Policy Forum.

They will be repeating the event. The dates are still in discussion.

There was a debate about hosting it during Women’s Week (week 10), or earlier in the quarter.

It was a tense discussion, but there were many positive ideas that came from the forum.

Mandatory consent workshops was strongly suggested.

Monday meetings will be the time to discuss any future plans and projects that the GSU has.

Real Food Challenge

At the moment, there is no food policy at Evergreen.

Edible Evergreen: an official presidential committee that will form a food policy and create a more comprehensive food system at Evergreen.

Two student coordinators: Chair and co-chair

The coordinator positions would be under the GSU, similar to Election Commissioners. They would be elected along with GSU members

Some GSU members expressed concern about having yearly elections. It could be difficult to hire someone new to handle the workload every year.

Candidates can present themselves to the GSU, before putting their names onto the ballot.

Use the model based on the Clean Energy Committee.

The GSU is politically responsible to elect members.

The GSU should create a removal process of the coordinator positions.

The Chair and co-chair would have required office hours and bi-monthly check in’s to the GSU.

Should they abide by the By-Laws? Who makes them accountable?

People are elected are responsible for advertising the spring elections.

Contact Emily Dunn-Wilder with any questions or comments. She will write up a bill regarding these matters.

Special Initiative Request

Draft a proposal

Week 5: Stipend Structure

Week 10: Next Year Budget

There was a discussion about increasing GSU stipends due to increase in workload.

The GSU will need to find a convincing argument to present to the S&A, who also meets twice a week.

GSU members suggested to spend a year, or a few terms with the new structure, before raising GSU stipends.

Get in touch with Tyler. The GSU should vote on a decision by week 3.

The GSU office should have a sign-in sheet that would speak to office hours.

Tyler will talk to S&A board and update the GSU on Monday.

WSA Legislation

Anne asked the GSU to send her more information regarding Evergreen and our student government. The GSU will chose topics to send to WSA.

There will be a googledocs where members can answer Anne’s questions. Anything that is not answered will be addressed on Monday.

The Campus Affairs Cluster will work with Anne on this matter.
