OLYMPIA, Wash.— The Evergreen State men’s basketball team had their best weekend of the season, punctuating a two game conference home stand with an 84- 82 win vs. Northwest Christian University. The victory was the Geoducks’ (2-2 CCC) third win in a row and second conference win in as many days.

Northwest Christian (1-2 CCC), who led by two at the half, never gave up but could not get a shot off on their last possession of the game as they fell to the Geoducks.

Senior Josh Troyer (Vancouver, Wash. / Lower Columbia CC) outdid his season high 21-point performance from the night before by recording a double- double with 22 points and 11 rebounds. Troyer made his presence felt defensively as well with three steals and a block. Another impressive Geoduck performance was that of big-bodied forward Marice Tolliver (Tacoma, Wash. / Mt. Tahoma HS). The Tacoma native also had a double-double by scoring 12 and grabbing 11 rebounds. The Geoducks outrebounded the Beacons 38-31 and forced 15 turnovers to send the Beacons home with their second loss in two days.

NCU had the games two leading scorers as Cameron Marshall (Eugene, Ore. / Colorado School of Mines) led the way with 23 points while Quentin Guidry (Houston, Tex. / Lane CC) added 21 points.

The Geoducks, who moved from 11th place in the conference to sixth in just one weekend.

The Geoducks look to add on to their three game winning streak as they host Pacific University on December 20th at 7:30 pm at the CRC Gymnasium
