NATURAL RESOURCES SUMMER INTERN
Location: Bothell, WA
AMEC Earth & Environmental is recognized as a world leading organization comprised of professionals working on a vast range of technically challenging and rewarding projects. AMEC is accepting applications for a Natural Resources intern position based in Bothell, Washington. Work is anticipated to start in June of 2011, last for 10 weeks, with the candidate working between 24 to 40 hours per week. This position would provide a valuable opportunity to explore different potential career paths at AMEC.
Responsibilities
- Provide GIS and/or AutoCAD 3D support for natural resources projects
- Enter data and use analytical and design software applications
- Perform field investigations to collect data
- Collect samples of air, water, soil, or construction materials, prepare samples for testing, record data, and prepare summary reports
- Other natural resources tasks, as assigned
Qualifications
- Ongoing education or recent graduate in fisheries sciences, civil engineering, environmental engineering, or related field
- General knowledge and understanding of stream restoration design and stream data collection techniques a plus
- Experience with ArcGIS, Autocad 3D, and/or hydraulic modelling software such as HEC-RAS a plus
- Certified Erosion and Sediment Control Lead (CESCL) certification a plus
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and pay close attention to detail
- Strong technical writing skills
- Strong work ethic
