Laskeek Bay Conservation Society (LBCS) is hosting 2 six-week internships during the 2012 field season. Interns will be based at a field research camp on East Limestone Island, located just north of the Gwaii Haanas boundary in Haida Gwaii. Interns will be responsible for their own transportation to/from the Village of Queen Charlotte & food for 1 week (billeting provided). LBCS will arrange all food, transportation and lodging for the duration of the field component of the internship (5 weeks). Third or fourth year students in biology, environmental science, resource management, or a similar discipline are encourage to apply. Interns will gain practical experience in field biology data collection and data management; identifying a wide variety of bird life, marine mammals, and coastal plants; and low impact, environmental sensitive research methods on a variety of marine and terrestrial ecology projects.
