See BelowThe Greenbuild Conference & Events Internship will be split between the event execution side and the programmatic side of the Greenbuild Conference & Events team, which handles the planning, coordination, and oversight of all logistical aspects of USGBC’s various meetings, seminars and events–primarily Greenbuild. This internship will also provide experience planning and preparing education content for Greenbuild.

Internship Details Include:

  • Assistance with aspects of the Greenbuild education program, including development of associated summits
  • Preparation of continuing education credit submittal documents for all Greenbuild continuing education sessions and other CE-related tasks as assigned
  • Assistance in coordinating conference communication with speakers and attendees, including covering the program speaker communication inbox, as well as e-mail and telephone customer service.
  • Providing logistical support as needed for internal and external meetings and events. This includes, but is not limited to:
    • Researching various venues for USGBC National Events
    • Providing support to various meetings, including the Mid Year Meeting
    • Creating post-event reports, managing budgets
  • Assistance with conference sustainability projects to improve the sustainability process within the Conference & Events Team. This may include research projects on sustainability planning resources and compilation of sustainability data.
  • Other duties as assigned

Education & Training Requirements/Preferences:

  • Current enrollment in, or recent graduation from (within six months) an undergraduate or graduate program of study required
  • Interest and/or experience in the field of event planning strongly preferred
  • Interest and/or experience in the field of sustainability, architecture, urban planning or education preferred

Other Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Prior event planning experience preferred
  • Exceptional computer skills including demonstrated proficiency with MS Word, Excel, internet, email.
  • Excellent “people skills”
  • Deadline-oriented and ability to multi-task
  • Ability to travel for on-site coordination of conference and events
  • Availability and willingness to work outside regular business hours
  • Ability to interact effectively with senior management and across various departments
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated creativity, innovation and initiative
  • Commitment to USGBC mission
