Save The Bay’s internship program provides actively enrolled college students, recent graduates, graduate students and beginning professionals with practical work experience and in-depth training in the non-profit, environmental sector. Working under the supervision of one of the organization’s professional staff, interns contribute to projects, gain insight into the functions of individual departments and learn about the mission of the organization.
Save The Bay focuses on mutually beneficial internship placements. Save The Bay’s offices are fast paced; we are looking for interns who are able to establish priorities, are organized, can work independently and are committed to environmental stewardship.
Objectives:
- To encourage students to select careers in environmental policy, protection, education and non-profit work.
- To provide students with valuable work experience in the non-profit, environmental sector.
- To assist the organization in completing their goals.
Requirements:
- Be enrolled in an accredited college or university during the term of your internship. Graduate students and recent college graduates are also eligible for internship opportunities.
- Applicants must have a grade point average of 2.75 or higher out of 4.0.
- Applicants who will be working with children will have to undergo a background check before they can begin work.
Salary
Save The Bay internships are unpaid. Save The Bay does not provide stipends for interns unless specifically stated. Many colleges and universities will grant academic credit for internships. Save The Bay will gladly work with your school to see that your credits are approved.
