Part-time Work Schedule: A minimum of 16 to a maximum of 32 hours per week, dependent upon both the student’s availability and the workload.
The Pathways Internship Program is designed to provide students enrolled in a wide variety of educational institutions, from high school to graduate level, with opportunities to work in agencies and explore Federal careers while still in school and while getting paid for the work performed. Students who successfully complete the program may be eligible for conversion to a permanent job in the civil service.

KEY REQUIREMENTS
DUTIES:
The duties may include, but are not limited to the following:
- Preparing specimens to be kept in a collection, labeling, handling, orienting, and processing entomology, botany, or pathology specimens with complete accession information, and adding specimens to the collection
- Photocopying specimens and archiving images in the database
- Examining the collection on a regular basis and replacing old or unusable specimens with fresh, high quality specimens
- Maintaining collections in a clean, orderly, and pest-free state
- Adhering to all safety regulations
- Participating in field trapping, collecting, and detection of insects and other agricultural pests as necessary
- Taking notes, operating photocopiers, and answering telephones as needed
