This recruitment is for a permanent Environmental Specialist 2 in the Fish Program, Fish Management – Aquatic Invasive Species Unit. The duty station for this position is the Natural Resource Building in Olympia, WA.

This position assists the lead staff for ballast water management in meeting data and compliance objectives for regulating a state, national, and international shipping industry to ensure that the discharge of ballast water poses minimal risk of introducing invasive species into the Puget Sound, Columbia River, and coastal ports. The position must have specialized knowledge of the shipping industry and work effectively with ballast water
inspectors, multi-national vessel owners and operators, and federal and state agencies.
