The DOE Bonneville Power Administration offers unique opportunities for students to begin exploring careers in energy. Our Pathways Internship Program enables you to put your education and knowledge to the test in a real-world environment on live DOE Bonneville Power Administration projects.

PATHWAYS INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

An internship can put you on a path to permanent employment upon graduation. These paid positions ($14-$25 per hour) offer an introduction to the world of green energy and an opportunity to apply your education and knowledge.

INTERNSHIP POSITIONS: General Engineer, Operations Research Analyst, Economist, Account Specialist

The Power Services Intern Program (Program) is an intensive development program comprised of job rotations, hands on job experiences and classroom-style trainings that should prepare you for a long term career in Power Services.  If selected for this program, you will receive these opportunities:

  • Exposure to a wide range of BPA and industry functions and issues through formal and informal training
  • Rotational assignments through different organizations within Power Services to provide specific on-the-job-training
  • Tailored developmental plan

 

WHO SHOULD APPLY?

Graduate students and undergraduates (who are currently in at least the 2nd year of studies) pursuing a degree in fields such as:  engineering, mathematics, physical science, environmental science, economics, econometrics, statistics, or business administration.  Students must work at least 640 hours before graduation to be eligible for permanent employment.
