Summer Intern-Environmental Scientist, Geographer, Planner, or Historian

SoundEarth Strategies, Inc., a 100% employee owned, multi-office environmental consulting firm headquartered in Seattle, WA has an opportunity in our Seattle office for a Summer Intern; a highly motivated individual with a background and interest in Environmental Science, Geography, Planning, or History.

The position will consist of assisting Project Managers with activities ranging from researching and writing Phase I Environmental Site assessments, assisting with data gathering and writing State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA) environmental review documents, assisting with obtaining permit applications, soil, groundwater, and stormwater sampling, and underground storage tank closure and assessment..

Responsibilities will include assisting in field work activities, basic data analysis/data organization, technical report preparation, and permit expediting.

Qualified candidates must be scheduled to or have recently graduated from an Environmental Science, Geography, Planning, or History degree program, have a strong work ethic, excellent written and verbal communication capabilities, strong organizational skills, and proficiency with MS Office applications. The candidate may be asked to  perform field work in a range of weather conditions and must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record to travel to project sites, as needed. A current Hazardous Waste 40 Hour Health & Safety certificate may also need to be obtained as a condition of employment.
