Intern, Nesting Raptor Study
Cooper Ecological Monitoring, Inc.
Agoura Hills , California
The project (part of a PhD dissertation at UCLA) will revisit known nest sites of multiple raptor species dating back to the early 1970s, and will investigate site fidelity and habitat preferences. Interns will be expected to work 5 days/week, typically from mid-morning to late afternoon. Since nest sites are scattered across the range and some require considerable hiking to reach, applicants should own/have access to a car, be in excellent physical shape, and possess solid observational and map-reading skills. Housing will be provided (no cost) at the La Kretz Field Station, near Agoura Hills, CA, which is located c. 15 minutes from Zuma Beach/Malibu and about an hour from Santa Monica/West Los Angeles. Interns will be provided a $100/week stipend + mileage.
