The Washington Bus engages young people all across the state, empowers them through training, support, and hands-on work, and uses the power of our generation to drive policy and political wins. The Washington Bus is currently accepting applications for our Spring Advocacy Internship to shape higher education policy in our state. We seek an individual that is interested in politics, committed to social justice, and excited about engaging with young people across Washington State.
Past interns have lobbied legislators for increased, equitable access to voting systems, organized door-belling efforts across the state, registered thousands of people to vote, and engaged young (and old) Washingtonians about issues crucial to young people such as marriage equality, increased funding for public transit, and mandatory criminal background checks on gun purchases.
We believe that every person in King County deserves access to an education that helps them thrive in our community. Through grassroots political pressure from our volunteers, staff and coalition allies, the Washington Bus wants to motivate King County council to prioritize accessible community college.
