The Distribution Mapping Team, a group within Asset Management & Large Projects, is responsible for: maintaining connectivity of the Looped Distribution System via GIS; creating, updating, and/or superceding underground drawing with AutoCAD and AutoCAD Map; maintaining asset information using the utilities Asset Management System; working closely with internal and external customers to ensure data is reflective of what is in the field; etc.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone interested in how an electrical utility uses GIS, CAD, and WAMS to maintain relevant electrical data and to understand what connectivity is and how it is maintained using various applications. |

Qualifications: |
Education: This position is open to sophomore, junior and senior undergraduate students (as of the start of the internship) studying Engineering and/or GIS.
Undergraduate students must possess at least a 2.0 GPA at the time of application and throughout the internship. The student must be enrolled in accredited college courses, with a part-time or full-time course load, leading to a degree or certificate relevant to the internship. Desired Qualifications: Ideally, the candidate will have previous exposure or course work in CAD and/or mapping applications. Must be willing and eager to learn. |

Internship Duration and Hours: The timeframe of the internship will be May / June 2019 to June 2020. The candidate must be available to work up to 20 hours/week when classes are in session and will have flexibility to work up to 40 hours during academic breaks. Work hours will be flexible to accommodate the intern’s academic schedule.
