Natural Resource Worker 2
Full-time/ Seasonal
The Department of Fish & Wildlife is recruiting to hire one (1) seasonal, full-time Natural Resource Worker 2.  This position is located in Grant County at, 1550 Alder St. NE, Ephrata.
The purpose of this position is to assist the Access Staff in keeping access sites clean and safe for public recreational use.

DutiesAccess Maintenance.
Clean concrete outhouses using pressure washer, scouring powder and brush. Remove garbage in and around access sites, including main access roads through the wildlife areas.  Replace signs using hand tools, making sure signs are hung level and square. Repair chain link and barbed wire fence including installing post, braces and splices using a fence stretcher, fencing pliers, t-post pounder, post hole digger and other hand tools, making sure post are level and in line and chain link or wire is stretched tight. Graffiti removal using a soda blaster and corrosive chemicals while wearing PPE.  Assist Access Managers with various projects on access sites using small and large motorized equipment and hand tools. This may include but not limited to boat ramp repair, parking lot striping, replacing doors and windows, dirt work, barrier rock placement, gravel/rock placement, concrete and asphalt work. Vegetation control, spraying, hand pulling, mowing with ATV mower and utility tractor, weed whacker, pruners and chain saw to knock down or remove vegetation. Snow and ice removal.

Equipment maintenance.
Store and maintain equipment, this includes hand tools, power tools, weed whacker, chain saw, backpack blower, ATV mower, ATV, trailers, small engines, pressure washer, pesticide spraying systems, access trucks and utility tractor and implements.

 Administration and other duties as assigned.   
Keep daily log of activities, report site time and keep weekly updated.
QualificationsRequired Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED and three months of natural resource related experience.
Valid driver’s license.

Preferred/Desired Qualifications:
Experience in natural resource related labor.
Supplemental InformationWorking Conditions:
Work Setting, including hazards:Work in all weather conditions and terrain.
Schedule (i.e., hours and days):8 hours Monday – Friday
Travel Requirements:Travel up to 100% of the day and may include occasional overnight trips.
Tools and Equipment:Various hand tools, manual, power and gas. ATV, ATV mower and utility tractor.
Customer Interactions:There will be customer interaction while in the field.
