Description

Assist with professional forestry work in the field on a project basis or an assigned set of responsibilities under direct supervision of the Forester III or Deputy Director of Forestry.  Follows instructions provided by supervisors, and carries out duties as assigned in order to gain knowledge and experience in the field of forestry.

Approximately three months, June 24, 2019 – September 13, 2019
Examples of Duties

Assist the Forester III and/or Deputy Director in forestry related fieldwork.
Qualifications

1.         Enrollment in a college-level forestry program.
2.         Must be able and willing to work outside in inclement weather conditions, on varying levels of terrain, while carrying up to 10 pounds of equipment on a daily basis.
3.         Must be able to read maps and use a compass.
4.         Must be able to communicate effectively.
5.         Must be able to conduct oneself in a professional and respectful manor.
6.         Must possess a current valid State-issued driver’s license.
Supplemental Information

Monday through Friday, eight hours per day.
