comprehensive, nine-month training in sustainable food production and natural resource conservation for Seattle and King County residents. Apply what you learn in your own community through hands-on projects like building garden beds, installing rain gardens and creating habitat for wildlife and pollinators.
Soil and Water Stewards meet one weekend per month, February-October, to learn about a comprehensive range of hands-on topics, from soil-building and organic gardening to managing storm water. They then apply their new skills by partnering with local organizations in the Rainier Beach neighborhood of Seattle, and throughout King County.
Participants can be students, parents, teachers, professionals, community leaders and anyone else passionate about food, the environment and the health of our communities. A limited number of stipends are available to help offset the cost of transportation to training and project locations.
