The Neighborhood Farmers Markets is a 501c3 non-profit supporting Washington State Farmers and serving Seattle neighborhoods since 1993. We operate seven food-and-farm-only markets where shoppers can directly buy from local farms and support our local food economy.  We also do extensive work to increase food access, and all Seattle farmers markets facilitate SNAP/EBT use and other programs for folks in need.  Farmers markets are more essential than ever, and our goal is to make sure the markets are here each week for our farmers, vendors and communities.
We are currently in need of help on market days with social distancing and safety –  helping us to help shoppers with the revised market layouts and protocols. With the added layer of Covid logistics, we have relied more than ever on the tremendous community support for our farmers and markets – the markets simply would not operate otherwise!

If you or someone you know is interested in being a friendly (masked) face inside our markets – we’d love to hear from you!  Our Covid team volunteers will get a glimpse of the behind-the-scenes magic that makes the markets happen every week, and get to know some of our staff and vendors.  Of course, you’ll get to shop too!

The four markets we are operating this year are: West Seattle (Sundays), Columbia City (Wednesdays), University District (Saturdays), and Capitol Hill (Sundays).

For your and shopper protection, we will provide a mask, gloves and safety vest to be worn during the shift (or you are welcome to bring your own mask).  Shifts are about 2.5 hours each, and you can sign up for just one time, or as many as you like.
