JOB DESCRIPTION:
The main task of the GIS intern will be assisting in the creation/digitization of features from paper maps as well as maintaining a database. Experience using Microsoft Excel and Access is a must. The GIS intern will need to be efficient in using spreadsheets and databases to analyze and QA/QC data, as well as link data spatially.
The internship is expected to begin on or around June 17, 2013 and last for 3 months. This will be a full-time position, Monday – Friday. This is a non-benefitted position with an hourly rate of $15-17/hour.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Coursework from an accredited college or university with major focus in GIS, Urban Planning, Computer Science, or Information Systems. Candidates will have 1- 2 years of experience with GIS principles and practices in a college setting. Experience with the ESRI ArcGIS suite of software products 10.x is required. Knowledge of basic geology principles is preferred. You must be at least a Junior in college, with a minimum GPA of 3.0 is highly preferred.
