Do you have a love of the outdoors and an interest in environmental education?

Since 1987, Hoyt Arboretum Friends has worked to connect students to our global tree collection through education; today, our school field trip program serves approximately 3,500 first through fifth grade students each year. This program is supported by volunteer Arboretum Naturalists, who lead small groups of students on two-hour field trips to explore the arboretum’s trails and learn the science of trees through fun, hands-on activities. Please join us at an informational session on Saturday, March 2 at 10am to learn more about Hoyt’s school field trip and Arboretum Volunteer Naturalist programs. If interested in participating, short interviews will follow the informational session to assess each participant’s experience, ability and interest.

If selected for the Arboretum Naturalist program, volunteers will need to attend three required training sessions prior to the start of the spring field trip season. The spring field trip season runs from April through mid-June on Tuesday through Friday mornings. Arboretum Naturalists are encouraged to be available to volunteer for a minimum of four field trips per month during the spring season.
