The Nooksack Salmon Enhancement Association (NSEA) is hiring Nooksack River Steward Interns for the summer through the Future Leaders of Whatcom Waters (FLOW) Program.  Below is a brief description:

 

Program: The Nooksack River Steward Program is a collaboration between the United States Forest Service (USFS) and NSEA designed to provide salmon-focused environmental education opportunities to recreational users of the upper portions of the Nooksack River.  River Stewards will engage the community in restoration, responsible recreation, scientific monitoring, and general stewardship of the Nooksack River.

 

Candidate: Interns should have some knowledge about salmonids, salmonid habitat, and stewardship ethics. Candidate for this position should have some experience in environmental education and/or environmental policy, and a strong passion for hiking and outdoor recreation, including, but not limited to, fishing, rafting, and hiking.

 

Hours:10-30 hours per week, Friday-Sunday from June through September. Select weekdays will also be required.
