THE POSITION
Working closely with other EMSWCD staff, the Outreach and Education Intern will support the Urban Lands program by coordinating conservation education workshops, assisting staff with special projects and events, and engaging the community through tabling at community events, email marketing, social media, and surveys. The intern will gain familiarity with soil and water conservation programs and have opportunities to network with partner organizations and agencies throughout the District (Multnomah County East of the Willamette River). The ideal candidate has an interest in natural resource conservation, is computer proficient, has strong written and verbal communication skills, is willing to take initiative, and has a flexible and helpful personality.
Duration: 12 months
Desired Start: Late-May, 2019
Hours: 20 hours/week
Desired Schedule: Wednesday – Friday, occasional evenings and weekends.
Compensation: $15/hour
