Adapt Engineering has an immediate need for an intern level position to support ongoing environmental and cultural resource programs based out of our Portland, Oregon office. The position will begin as temporary, but may become permanent depending on performance and workload.
The selected candidate will support environmental reviews of potential impacts to historic properties and/or archeological resources for construction projects throughout the Pacific Northwest. The primary focus will be on satisfying NEPA (National Environmental Policy Act) and National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) requirements for proposed cellular communication projects regulated by the FCC (Federal Communications Commission). A background in architectural history, archeology, or related field is preferred.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
The ability to learn on the job, work within an existing team, and to complete assigned tasks quickly and efficiently is the most critical to success in this position. Experience working with NEPA or the NHPA is preferred but not required. An ideal candidate should have some knowledge of architectural history, archeology, or a related field. Experience working with federal and state agencies is favorable.
Adapt requires someone that is able to create technical reports, has strong customer service and communication skills, and is capable working in a team environment. This position requires strong organizational skills, the capability for multi-tasking and seamless time management.
