Yesterday the U.S. Census Bureau revealed the latest national and state population figures from the 2010 Census.

Over the last ten years, Washington has grown by 14.1%, qualifying the state for an additional Congressional seat.

Washington was one of only eight states to pick up seats.

The election for the new congressional seat will be 2012.
