Apple Scab

Apple scab fungus on apple leaf magnified 400 times

Apple scab is a disease to Malus trees, such as apple trees, caused by the ascomycete fungus Venturia inaequalis. This disease causes brown spots on the skin of apples.  The brown spots are edible but they detract from the visual appeal of the fruits and thus negativly affect market value.
