Agile development is being implemented in many software organization all over the world. A whole industry has emerged to train users in Agile and the different methodologies. In addition, there are many new companies and consultants offering certification courses in Agile and Scrum. It is common now to see “Agile/Scrum experience required” in software engineer job postings.
In this talk, Sonia will outline what Scrum is and why Lean matters. And she’ll talk about how companies like GE are building “startup” like teams as part of their innovation strategy.
Sonia is a Software Process Delivery Leader, Technical Project Lead, and Risk Management Engineering Lead at GE Healthcare, Global Asset Management. She has Certified Software Quality Engineer experience, working in an FDA regulated software development environment, and is interested in aspects of software quality that impact a technical team’s work and strategies that improve communication and meet quality goals. Sonia has successfully led cross-functional, co-located and remote teams through changing business directions and adopting and maintaining QMS and project milestones/objectives.
