ILC
Terroir translates to the taste of place. Marroir translates to the taste of in regards to the sea. Guamoir- the taste of Guam; a small tropical island near the equator in the Pacific. I be will studying the histories of the island (pre-latte, latte, Spanish rule, Japanese occupation, American territory). In addition, I will be studying the evolution of the local food and examine the parallels it shares with the history. There will also have two case studies I will conduct while there, FestPac (a region-wide festival celebrating the various arts and cultures of the Pacific) and the local Mango Festival. Finally, I will also be going through a cultural heritage journey as an individual from Guam. On this blog is where you’ll find all of my findings.
