Climate change is an annoyance in my life. I wish it wasn’t a problem that I cared so deeply about. There are things in my life that I would rather be studying or doing than fight for a more sustainable society. But I can’t be like the past generations. I can’t just continue on in my life thinking that it’s not my problem. If I were to pursue the things I wanted to, I wouldn’t be able to do it with a clear conscious. I have the ability to understand the science, the economic complications, and create solutions. Unfortunately it is my problem, it’s everyone’s problem. Until we can come together to face climate change together, no one will be able to do what they want with a full clear conscious. The first step that needs to be taken is to realize that borders, governments, and race does not separate us from this global catastrophe. There is not one country or person who should face it alone; we must fix it together as the human race.
