The near 80’s temperatures of Capitol Lake area affected the gear selection of Heritage Park joggers; tank tops and shorts now the clothing of choice. Traffic was still buzzing by the 5th Avenue dam and groups of joggers were taking turns passing opposite directions on the dam’s narrow sidewalk. The sidewalk provides just enough room for a mother and a double seat jogging stroller, many of which are seen around Capitol Lake. The blazing sun also seemed to increase the use of hats with brims, sunglasses, and even some sun screen recommended due to the high UV index.
