The Capitol Lake Dam Joggers

As I visited the dam, some of the joggers lapped me once, a few even twice.

I wasn't too comfortable taking photos of joggers. The joggers seemed focused on each stride leading to the next and I didn't want to disturb that dedication.

I travel from Yelm to visit the Capitol Lake Dam, so I use I-5 south to the US-101. I take the first exit off the 101 by hanging a right onto Cooper Point Rd SW and another right onto Evergreen Park Dr SW. I take the curve through the apartment complexes and turn left onto Lakeridge Dr SW towards Deschutes Parkway SW. The road T’s at the lakeside and immediately the joggers come into my view.

As a parent myself, I noticed the many baby jogging strollers in use at the Capitol Lake area. The path is wide enough at most points except the dam. This is one part of the path to where the space available is reduced to stroller width only. I’ve seen a double-sided stroller pass through over the dam, but you could tell that mom had serious stroller control and skills honed from dedicated jogs around the lake.
